Have you ever wondered what happens to books when your back is turned to them? If you keep an eye open, you may catch a glimpse of adventure rising from their sheets…

I created this series armed with only paper, scissors, a book and an old black dress. By carefully placing each object in the scene, I was able to tell a colossal tale in miniature: that of a paper adventurer braving all odds to face his life-long enemy, the Scissor Bird, in battle.

The real challenge of this project was to simulate the epic from the ordinary, a process which involved the use of dramatic angles, harsh lighting and extreme close-ups.
